About This Spot

Stepping up to Hakka 77 in Richmond Hill, you immediately sense a practical rhythm—unfussy and earnest, the kind of spot where the focus is firmly on the food and getting it right. It’s a bustling takeout-friendly corner with a steady flow, especially during lunch hours, where locals drop in for a comforting meal that feels like a little moment of warmth amid a busy day. There’s no elaborate décor to distract you, just an unpretentious space that invites you to pause and enjoy familiar flavors crafted with care.

The experience here is quietly satisfying. It’s the kind of place where the perfect balance of spice and savory notes in dishes like their famous chicken Manchurian or the ever-reliable Hakka noodles speaks volumes without shouting. Watching the steady stream of orders coming in, you get the sense of a community spot that knows its strengths and embraces them with humility. Whether picking up a quick lunch or bringing home a fragrant dinner, the food offers generous portions that nourish both body and spirit.

What lingers most is the dependable comfort of dishes that feel thoughtfully made—flavors balanced just right, neither too heavy nor too light. Despite the modest setting and the rush of midday crowds, there’s a quiet generosity in every order, reflected in the care to keep prices accessible and portions hearty.

Though the pace here can be brisk—sometimes a little wait is a sign of its loyal following—the moment a meal is unwrapped, it’s clear why people keep coming back. It’s a place that respects the simple pleasure of a good, honest meal, served quickly and without fuss. For those who know, Hakka 77 isn’t just about eating; it’s about connecting through familiar tastes that comfort and satisfy, day after day.

We have ordered during lunch time 4 orders ~$10 after tax each Each on is good to make you full It is halal as they confirmed The most delicious dishes are Manchurian chicken and Chili chicken. We didn’t like the taste of the soup side, but the kids liked the vegetable spring rolls side. All in all the food was good and ready for pickup in 10mins. It is so sad that they are understaffed so they do not offer a dine in. Hopefully soon we try the noodles!

I gave 5 stars because the food was so good. We ordered a 5 variety of dishes and all tasted great. Rice was good. Hakka Noodles were great. The spice in each dish was perfect not too heavy not too less. It is optimum. I must say for the price the food is delicious. Everything on the menu is worth for its price. I say this because we tried one from each menu subs. The hospitality from the waitress (don't know if I can call that) was really good. I also ate the fried banana dessert which was tasty as well. All in all must eat place. It is hidden in the cluster of lots within the huge building place. If it were slightly on the road it would ve been an instant hit. There is enough parking space without a problem.

$7.45 for lunch, Monday to Friday. Food quantity was generous. Steamed rice with a choice of gravy and soup/pop/spring roll. Food taste good. Place was clean. Service was fast. No credit card for below $10 orders.

Take out only place. Best bang for the buck. Lunch special is 9.99+tax. Only thing is it gets busy for lunch so sometimes you had to wait as long as 40 minutes - I encourage you to call ahead to order. Regardless chili chicken is to die for.
